Why do I need to cleanse?

Our bodies collect toxins from substances we ingest, breathe, and put on our bodies. Some of these toxins will be processed through the liver and flushed out of the body, but many remain in the body and live in fat cells. Removing these toxins will facilitate the liver, kidneys, lungs, and intestines to work optimally and reduce the risk of disease.

Where do toxins come from?

Toxins come from three sources:

  1. Foods We Eat: High fructose corn syrup, MSG, non-organic foods, processed foods, fried foods, dyes, additives, chemicals, preservatives, coffee, alcohol, etc.
  2. Chemicals We Breathe: Secondhand smoke, bug spray, weed killer, hair spray, etc.
  3. Products We Apply to Our Skin: Deodorant, sunscreen, makeup, nail polish, shaving cream, shampoo and hair products, etc.

What are the benefits of the Newport Beach Cleanse?

This cleanse program can have a significant, positive effect on the biochemistry of the body while allowing natural toxins and byproducts of daily metabolism to be eliminated. You may notice the following:

Yes, by following the Newport Beach Cleanse you will be working toward sustained, long-term weight management. The ideal weight management system is not a quick fix but a long-term lifestyle commitment. You will need to make lifestyle changes that will continue long after the cleansing process is completed. Since toxins live in fat cells, when you pull the toxins out, the fat cells come with it. For greater weight loss, follow the Newport Beach Cleanse for 21 or 28 days.

Is exercise necessary? How much and what type is recommended?

Exercise facilitates the removal of toxins and helps maintain a healthy weight. Sweating is an excellent way to remove toxins. It is recommended that you exercise for 20–60 minutes 4–6 days per week. Consult with your healthcare professional if you are on a more strenuous exercise program that you would like to maintain throughout the 14-day cleanse, or about resuming strenuous exercise after the completion of the cleanse. Enjoying a sauna or steam for 30–40 minutes up to four times a week is also permitted.

What supplements are taken during the program?

Supplements are essential to the Newport Beach Cleanse because they facilitate toxin removal from organs. In addition, they help decrease inflammation while supplying high-quality phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. It is also crucial to build and maintain good gut flora for immunity and general good health.

  • Newport Detox: Facilitates the cleansing process by gently removing toxins
  • Borage Oil: Omega-6 fatty acids
  • Cod Liver Oil: Omega-3 fatty acids, EPAs, DHAs, and vitamins A & D

Why does the Newport Probiotic Blend not need to be refrigerated?

This product contains a prebiotic and probiotic blend and is therefore shelf stable.

What if I am a vegetarian or vegan?

You can follow the program completely without the animal protein once a day. Replace the cod liver oil with either ground or whole flax seeds (1 tablespoon) or flaxseed oil (1 tablespoon) in your shakes.

Can I take my regular supplements/medication on the program?

Your healthcare professional can help you decide what is right for you based on your health history, the supplements/medications you are taking, and your health goals. Additional supplements are usually not necessary. You will be receiving optimal nutrients, vitamins, and minerals during the cleanse.

How do I stick to the program when eating away from home?

  • Plan your strategy before you leave home.
  • When choosing a restaurant, select one that serves foods on the recommended list. This will curb temptation.
  • When traveling, pack your protein and fiber powders in a baggie, or container, and take them with you. Many hotels or juice bars will accommodate your powders with your shake.
  • When attending a social gathering, have a shake before you go if you know the food selection will be challenging. You can also bring a dish that is permitted on the Newport Beach Cleanse.

Will I need to use the restroom frequently?

There will be no urgency to go to the restroom, but you may have one or two more bowel movements than you usually do in a day; your quantity may be increased as well. Urination will increase with the increase in water and vegetables. This is normal because toxins are being excreted.

Why is coffee not permitted?

Coffee contains toxins and caffeine (even decaffeinated). The purpose of the Newport Beach Cleanse is to eliminate toxins and caffeine and purge the body of existing toxins. Start diluting your coffee a few days before you start the Newport Beach Cleanse so that your body will have a minimal reaction to the caffeine withdrawal. Replace coffee with herbal tea.

Why is alcohol not permitted?

Alcohol contains toxins, and all forms of alcohol turn into sugar, therefore it is not permitted. Newport Beach Cleanse will stabilize your blood sugars, which will facilitate weight loss. Abstaining from alcohol also gives the pancreas and its production of insulin a rest.

Is there anything I can do to encourage more weight loss?

For greater weight loss results, minimize your berry intake, and refrain from or minimize your brown rice, quinoa, and sweet potato/yam. Exercise regularly and drink plenty of water.

What physical changes will I experience during purification?

Two of the main effects will be an increase in urination and bowel movements. This is a natural effect of cleansing and should not interfere with your daily activities. In rare cases, you may experience a throbbing sensation in the head, generalized aches, itchy skin, rashes, or fatigue. These are normal occurrences and simply indicate that your body needs to cleanse. It is important to drink plenty of water, and it should pass in a few days, or can rarely take up to a week. Please talk with your healthcare professional if you have questions about how you are feeling or what you are experiencing.

Can I substitute different vegetables than what are recommended?

No. The vegetables and fruits listed are recommended because of their high nutritive value, their low starch and sugar content, and their capacity to support detoxification. Feel free to substitute within the list of permitted foods.

What if I want to add more protein or fiber to my diet during the Newport Beach Cleanse?

This is only recommended for athletes who require extra protein. You are getting enough protein and fiber from the foods you are eating. If you are an athlete, you may need a third shake or a second serving of animal protein each day.

Will I be tired or experience a lack of energy while on the Newport Beach Cleanse?

Fatigue can occur for some in the first few days, up to a week, as your body is working hard to cleanse; everyone is different and has a different amount of toxins. Do not worry about this fatigue, as it will pass—it’s a sign that the Newport Beach Cleanse is working.

Will I be bloated during the cleanse?

You may experience some bloating during the first week. This means that the toxins are coming out. Drink plenty of water and bloating will diminish.

What can I do if temporary constipation occurs?

Drink plenty of water—at least half your body weight in ounces per day. Eat plenty of vegetables with high fiber content. Eating one beet daily encourages regular bowel movements.

Do the Newport Beach Cleanse products contain gluten, soy or dairy?

No, there is no gluten, dairy or soy in the Newport Beach Cleanse. All supplements and powders are organic and verified non-GMO. There are no artificial chemicals, colors, synthetics, or additives in any of the ingredients.

What if I am allergic to certain foods on the list?

If you suspect you are having a reaction to a specific food, refrain from eating it and consult your healthcare professional about how to incorporate alternative food sources. High allergen foods are not included in the Newport Beach Cleanse.

Is the Newport Beach Cleanse recommended for pregnant or lactating women?

No. More calories are required during pregnancy and lactation than are needed during purification and for everyday weight management. In addition, we do not want toxins that are leaving the body to get transferred to the baby.

What do I do if I have continued health issues once completing the Newport Beach Cleanse?

You and your healthcare professional should work together after the Newport Beach Cleanse. Your healthcare professional may recommend supplements that are specific to your health concern.

What if I am not losing weight during the Newport Beach Cleanse?

  • Read through all the materials again to make sure you are following the guidelines.
  • Drink plenty of water and get plenty of exercise.
  • Snack only on vegetables. No fruit.
  • Sparingly use only berries in your shakes, as they are lower-glycemic fruits.
  • Keep a food log to make sure you are following the guidelines.
  • Be patient and enjoy this process.

What if I am struggling with the program?

Don’t give up! Changing eating habits is difficult, so don’t be hard on yourself. Look at each day as a new day. If you get off track, just start over the following day. You can do it!

Will I be hungry?

You may get more hungry than usual, as you are eating easily digestible foods, but eat when you’re hungry! Cleansing does not mean starving, so please eat the foods that are permitted.

What if I am not hungry?

The shakes are very filling and it is common to not feel hungry. You are having a lot of fiber which makes you feel full. We encourage you to eat when you are hungry. Don’t worry if you can’t eat all of the food that is allowed. Do what works for you.

Can I cleanse longer than 14 days?

Yes, you can cleanse for 21 or 28 days and will see great results. Continue the exact guidelines for the 14-day cleanse. It is safe and also encouraged to do the Newport Beach Cleanse 2 to 4 times a year.
